GTA 6 is a new Leonida story. Replay GTA 5 if you want refreshed heists or Online progress, not because Rockstar requires it.

Story continuity

Jason and Lucia start a new crime arc in Leonida. Rockstar has not marketed GTA 6 as a direct sequel to Michael, Franklin, and Trevor missions. Skip the replay if you only care about Vice City.

GTA Online catch-up

If your friend group still lives in Los Santos businesses and heists, keep playing Online. GTA 6 Online may arrive after story launch similar to GTA 5's 2013 rollout.
